Apprenticeship Program Now Approved in Colorado

At Desert Glass Works, we’ve been diligently crafting a formal apprenticeship program for quartz glass fabrication. What seemed straightforward at first turned out to be a deeply involved process—no surprise, considering we’re distilling over 80 years of combined expertise into a program for the next generation.

We’re committed to doing it right. That means creating more than just a hands-on training curriculum. Our program is designed to cultivate skilled artisans who also understand the business side of the trade, the value of community, and the importance of sustainable growth in our industry.

We’re proud to share that our program has now been officially approved by the State of Colorado, and we already have three apprentices in place. This marks a meaningful step forward—not just for Desert Glass Works, but for the future of quartz glass craftsmanship. We’re excited to begin sharing this craft—and this legacy—with the next generation of quartz glass professionals.
